Would you mind telling me where it's posted?

And this Fred guy sounds like my paternal grandmother who did that kind of stuff until all of her children and grandchildren cut off contact with her.

Thank you so much!plantfoodhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08394524009296526413noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8282848485939058298.post-33235763003180947252008-07-21T18:34:00.000-07:002008-07-21T18:34:00.000-07:00Fred sounds like a jerk! I've never understood people like that, but I'm so glad that you didn't let him steal your dreams.

I read Magic and The Way You Say My Name on the free story site and so far, they are the best things I've read there. Both of the stories kept dragging me back in. I would have to go back and reread "that one part" again, which would lead me to "oh, yeah, gotta reread that too!" The love and humor in your stories is wonderful and I'm so glad that I found you.

Now, totatlly off topic, well maybe not totally, but... On your website, the contact link won't let me in and I wanted to let you know how much I've enjoyed your stories and also I was wondering if we would see any more of the Reed characters? I'm dying to read more about Megan and Heath and was wondering if Ash would get his own story, maybe now that he is in college?

Sorry if this isn't the right place to ask about these, but I didn't know how else to contact you.

Thanks for the many hours of enjoyment!KelSuehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01427014526025313800noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8282848485939058298.post-74406648058287942512008-05-02T16:03:00.000-07:002008-05-02T16:03:00.000-07:00Sara, thank you so much for sharing this "Fred" ex...Sara, thank you so much for sharing this "Fred" experience with us. I think you felt naive at the time, but frankly, how would you know he was playing his weird manipulation game from the beginning? I don't think you could have.

I've had critiques turn sour. I'm not sure why a crit partner would suddenly turn nasty. I have some suspicions, jealousy among them. I think others get really familiar with you, and they try to tell you things in ways that make themselves sound cute and funny, but they're forgetting that your writing is so fragile when it's freshly born (or, frankly, always.)

A recent beta comment of, "This part is kind of Keystone Kops-like," set me off a story for a month. She could have just said there felt like there was too much running around, but she was trying to be...cute. Or something. I think you can never know what's going to shred the newborn story, but when you're doing a beta, it's safe to say that trying to be "cute" with your turns of phrase is never going to come out making anyone feel good about the comment. (This is from someone who's totally well-intentioned. I can't imagine having a 'Fred' to deal with. I think that would have easily stalled my writing for a year or two.)

Thanks for blogging about this tough topic!

_Jordan Castillo Price
www.jordancastilloprice.comJordan Castillo Pricehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06424538039745296433noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8282848485939058298.post-37680744349189690232008-04-29T17:29:00.000-07:002008-04-29T17:29:00.000-07:00well sara you know i think you're a fantastic writ...well sara you know i think you're a fantastic writer and "fred" needs to meet my tree. nough said! i'm glad you kept writing and can't wait for more from you.

jenniferJenniferhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09654848620936603011noreply@blogger.com
